It’s 5:00 where I am, so it’s cocktail time. Wish you were here!
Are you ever more worn out on Thursdays after work than you are on Fridays? I know how that is. I think we tend to have more energy on Fridays because knowing the week is coming to a close is somehow energizing.Thursdays though? Sometimes I just want to sit and sip and ponder things for a bit.
I’m typically a vodka girl when it comes to cocktails but recently I was introduced to the Sidecar which is made with brandy or Cognac. I’ve been using brandy. I know it’s an old fashioned drink, but as is often the case, I’m late to the party. Regardless, it’s a refreshing combination of citrus flavors that I dig, so I’m on a little bit of a Sidecar kick right now. It’s also a pretty sweet drink but if you put it on the rocks or drop a big ball of ice into your glass like I’ve been doing, it’ll dilute very nicely. I found our cocktail ice ball mold at Sur La Table and I know you can find them other places as well. I think they’re a lot of fun; not to mention, they make a drink look pretty cool.
Anyway, I’m heading out to my new teeny tiny patio to chill. Wish you were here. Cheers!
