No Double Dipping? Layered chip dip to the rescue!
Two friends of mine come completely unhinged if anybody (typically me) ‘allegedly’ double dips. It’s so stupid and here’s why. I don’t put the chip and dip into my mouth and then take it out. It breaks off! I’m not dipping a slobbery chip or veggie back into the dip–come ON! Whatever. Apparently I’m disgusting.
The solution? Individual layered chip dip. Layer dips, salsa, and toppings into a personal container for individual layered chip dip and ignore your friends.
Individual layered chip dip is a great idea. Set up an ingredients bar, let your friends layer their own, and everyone is happy. They’re also cute.
You might have seen these made in jars, which is adorable, but I made mine in plastic tumblers so they can be tossed instead of washed once they’re empty. The plastic tumblers I used were 9 oz., which is a healthy portion of layered dip.
You can layer with bean dip or re-fried beans in place of or with guacamole, add sweet peppers, cilantro, lettuce, onions, lime juice, or anything else you like in your layered dip.
Mine were very basic with guacamole, sour cream, fresh tomatoes mixed with salsa, olives, cheese, and a jalapeno topper.
Layered dip is so good, these are always a hit, and perfect for any party or game night.
